The Roberto Rocca Education Program celebrated its fourth year in Italy at a ceremony in October honoring 42 engineering and applied science students from the Universita degli Studi di Bergamo, Universita degli Studi di Brescia, Universita degli Studi Federico II di Napoli, Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino.
In her opening remarks, Patrizia Bonometti, Tenaris HR Director for Europe, stated that “promoting this kind of initiative is important because investing in these young students is investing in the future.”
Benedetta Gaglioppa, a student from Politecnico de Milano and one of the eight female awardees in 2009, said: “This scholarship gave me the opportunity to do my thesis in energy engineering at TenarisDalmine. Working with the Energy Department team at Tenaris I discovered a fascinating world I knew little about. Thanks to that experience I am beginning to understand what could be my path in the future.”
For Alessandro Gnali, from the Universita di Brescia, the scholarship offers a chance to expand his personal horizons. With the money from the scholarship, he said, “I will invest in a German language course and travel to Germany,”
