“With the skills I develop at the Roberto Rocca Technical School in Campana, I can do good beyond the school”
Morena Cadaveira is a 5th-year student specializing in Electronics. She found in technical education a space to pursue her passion and make a difference in her community.
From a young age, Morena was inspired by her older sister, who broke family stereotypes by choosing a technical school. Morena followed in her footsteps with determination. “It doesn’t matter whether you are a man or a woman -if you know how to take advantage of it, technical school is very enriching,” she affirms.
She also discovered in the technical field a world full of possibilities. “School not only gives you tools to solve everyday problems, but also to do good outside—because it allows you to share knowledge and develop projects that benefit your community,” she says proudly. Along those lines, since last year and together with a classmate, she has been working on a project developed in one of the STEM workshops at the school, supported by teachers. “We visited a school in the La Josefa neighborhood, where the Roberto Rocca After School program is implemented, to identify their needs. The school staff mentioned that on rainy days, the children would get their feet dirty while entering the facilities. So, we decided to work on a solution: we designed and built a bridge made of iron and wood, so the children can cross without getting wet and arrive comfortably to study.”
With three more years to go in high school, Morena has clear goals: “I hope to learn as much as I can and graduate as one of the best -not only for my technical achievements but also as a person.” She also knows she wants to study engineering, “but I don’t know which kind because I like almost all of them.”
